The Federal Revenue Service reported that taxation on bets brought R$ 5.62 billion into public coffers in the first eight months of this year. In August alone, R$ 890 million was collected, and if this level is maintained, the government is expected to raise R$ 9.18 billion, not considering the increase of the GGR from 12% to 18%, which will take effect on October 1. With the higher taxation, the figure is expected to surpass R$ 10 billion.
