To this end, we have implemented digital barriers through technological solutions to curb addictive behavior and prevent minors from placing bets online. Notably, Brazil is a pioneer in adopting facial recognition technology, becoming a global case study.
Responsible Advertising
We support the regulation of sector advertising, particularly to curb the appeal of illegal betting operators acting outside legal frameworks. We have already established clear guidelines and launched an Advertising Code that guides campaigns from IBJR member companies. We also consistently promote educational messages and adhere to CONAR’s Annex X.
Financial Awareness
Promoting financial awareness is key for bettors to understand that online betting should be treated as a paid form of entertainment, not a financial investment opportunity. Our goal is to highlight the risks involved, emphasizing that losses are always possible. We work to ensure people recognize betting is not a wealth-building strategy but a recreational activity to be enjoyed responsibly and within limits.
Contribution to the Economy and Sport
We advocate for the sector as a driver of economic growth and investment in sports, generating benefits for society as a whole. From 2025 onwards, tax revenues are projected to reach billions of reais in the coming years. Furthermore, as these companies establish themselves in Brazil, they stimulate various industries—from marketing to technology—fueling important innovation initiatives.
Sports Integrity
Sports integrity is the foundation of a fair and trustworthy online betting environment. We actively fight match-fixing, partnering with sports organizations and regulatory authorities to ensure bets do not undermine event integrity. All betting activity undergoes daily monitoring to detect irregular patterns.
